With the ongoing delay of Vijay's Jana Nayagan, Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi has emerged as the undisputed winner of the recent Pongal season. New reports released today indicate the film has grossed over RM55 crore (approx. 55 Crore INR) in Tamil Nadu alone within its first few weeks.

The film’s success is being attributed to its "family entertainer" label and the lack of major competition due to the legal hurdles facing other big-budget releases. Sivakarthikeyan has once again proven his "bankability" among rural and urban audiences alike.

Distributors are now extending the film’s theatrical run by another two weeks. This success is a rare bright spot for Tamil Nadu theatre owners, who are otherwise facing a massive revenue loss due to the absence of a "Thalapathy" blockbuster.
