Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim provided a detailed briefing in Parliament this morning to address public confusion over the Malaysia-Indonesia border. He categorically denied opposition claims that the government had "surrendered" 5,000 hectares of land in Sabah to Indonesia, labeling such rumors as politically motivated misinformation.

The PM explained that the recent border alignment was based on historical treaties and joint technical surveys conducted by both nations. He noted that while three villages in the Nunukan area were identified as falling within Malaysian territory, the overall sovereignty of the state remains intact and protected.

Anwar emphasized that the clarification was necessary to maintain the "close and brotherly" relationship with Jakarta while ensuring that Malaysian citizens in border regions are not misled. The briefing was broadcast live, drawing high viewership across social media platforms.
