The independent probe into the alleged forced withdrawal of young national sprinter Danish Irfan Tamrin from the previous SEA Games is nearing completion. Investigation Committee chairman Datuk Salim Parlan announced today that the final report is expected to be submitted within the next two weeks. A total of 13 individuals have been called to assist in the investigation, which began in early January.

The case gained public attention following reports that Danish was allegedly coerced into writing a false letter claiming he was injured to justify his withdrawal. This occurred shortly after he won a silver medal in the 100m at the ASEAN Schools Games with a qualifying time of 10.61 seconds. Once finalized, the findings will be presented to the Malaysia Athletics president before being forwarded to the Youth and Sports Ministry for potential disciplinary action.
