The Malaysian stock market, Bursa Malaysia, opened on a weaker note this morning, with the FBM KLCI falling to 1,741.18 points. The decline was attributed to profit-taking by investors following mixed signals from Wall Street and ongoing concerns regarding heavy investments in artificial intelligence.

Despite the slight market dip, the Ringgit remained robust, trading below the RM4.00 mark against the US Dollar. Meanwhile, the government announced that the one-off RM100 SARA aid for eligible Malaysians aged 18 and above will be credited via MyKad starting February 9, 2026.
