Sixteen-year-old Ava Tiong Yu Jie emerged as the standout performer on the final day of the Sarawak Games (Suksar) IV today. Representing the Northern Zone, the Miri-based athlete captured gold medals in both the women’s singles and women’s doubles categories at the Sri Aman Civic Centre.

The Pei Min Middle School student demonstrated exceptional composure throughout the finals, outplaying her opponents to cement her status as one of Sarawak's most promising young talents. Her victory is a significant step toward her goal of representing the state in the upcoming Sukma 2026 in Selangor.

Ava's double-gold achievement has also helped the Northern Zone team maintain a strong position in the overall medal standings. Coaches have praised her discipline and work ethic, marking her as a potential future star for the national Malaysian team.
