Bersatu Supreme Council member Datuk Badrolhisham Hashim has dismissed rumors regarding the alleged sacking of Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin. Speaking today, he clarified that a recent meeting of over 30 leaders at the residence of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was a "friendly Ramadan celebration" and did not involve discussions on party disciplinary actions or leadership changes.
The clarification comes amidst intense speculation about power struggles within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component party. Rumors had suggested that Hamzah might be removed from his post due to differing strategic visions. However, Badrolhisham emphasized that there was no dialogue regarding such a move during the informal gathering, which focused on spiritual reflection and strengthening camaraderie among members.
Despite the denial, political observers remain focused on Bersatu's upcoming internal developments. Previous reports had indicated that Muhyiddin Yassin had resigned as PN chairman effective January 1, leading to further speculation about a leadership vacuum or transition. For now, the party insists it remains united as it prepares for the next phase of its political strategy under its current leadership structure.
