Malaysia's labour market showed strong growth in the fourth quarter of 2025, with labour demand increasing by 1.8% to reach 9.21 million jobs. This marks the highest growth rate since early last year, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM). The services sector continues to lead the job market, contributing over 52% of total employment.

Parallel to this job growth, the government is intensifying its digital transformation efforts. The MyGOV app has seen a massive 200% surge in downloads, reaching 1.57 million new users as of February 11. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo noted that the app now integrates 44 services from 16 different agencies, and plans are underway to add over 30 new high-impact services this year to further streamline public transactions.

Furthermore, the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has named the operator for the nation's first Social Exchange platform, Impakrintas, set to launch on February 19. This platform will facilitate direct cash donations to verified non-profit organizations for projects ranging from healthcare access to environmental sustainability, with donors eligible for specific tax benefits.
