U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that his newly established Board of Peace has secured $5 billion in pledges dedicated to the reconstruction of Gaza. Speaking from Florida, the President stated that these funds are part of a broader international stabilization effort that includes the commitment of thousands of personnel to form a new police and security force for the territory. The board's inaugural meeting is set to take place in Washington this coming Thursday to formalize these contributions.

The Board of Peace, which Trump chairs, is being positioned by the administration as a "consequential international body" aimed at ending long-standing regional conflicts. While the specific countries contributing to the multi-billion dollar fund have not yet been fully detailed, the plan envisions a massive infrastructure overhaul for the war-ravaged region. Trump indicated that the board would serve as a primary vehicle for his foreign policy goal of stabilizing the Middle East through economic investment rather than prolonged military engagement.

Critics and international observers are closely watching the development, as the plan represents a radical departure from traditional multilateral peace processes. Some diplomats have expressed concerns over the "Board of Peace" operating independently of existing United Nations frameworks, while others remain cautiously optimistic that the significant financial injection could provide the necessary leverage for a lasting ceasefire. The upcoming meeting in Washington is expected to clarify the roles of various member nations and the timeline for deploying stabilization forces.
