Starting April 14, 2026, Google will implement new mandatory verification rules for all advertisers promoting financial services in Malaysia. This initiative aims to protect consumers from rising online financial scams and "corporate mafia" activities by ensuring that only authorized entities can run financial advertisements.
Under the new policy, advertisers must demonstrate they are authorized by the relevant Malaysian regulatory bodies such as the Securities Commission (SC) or Bank Negara Malaysia to provide financial services. Failure to complete this verification process will result in the removal of their advertisements from Google's platforms, including search results and YouTube.
