A major multi-vehicle accident at KM15.8 of the Grand Sepadu Highway triggered a massive traffic gridlock during the peak Monday morning rush. The pile-up, which involved four cars and a small delivery van, occurred on the stretch heading from Bandar Bukit Raja toward Shah Alam. While emergency services confirmed there were no fatalities, three individuals were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The accident resulted in a tailback of over five kilometers, with some commuters reporting delays of up to one hour. The congestion was exacerbated by the rubbernecking of motorists in the opposite direction and the difficulty of getting heavy tow trucks through the standstill traffic. Highway authorities worked until approximately 11:00 AM to fully clear the affected lanes and restore normal traffic flow.

Preliminary reports from highway patrols suggest that slippery road conditions following an early morning drizzle may have contributed to the chain-reaction collision. Motorists are advised to exercise extra caution and maintain a safe following distance, especially during the current unpredictable weather. Residual congestion is still being felt on connecting routes, including parts of the NKVE.
