While there were no immediate reports of major injuries in the region, several buildings in Indonesian cities like Manado have suffered visible damage. 

Malaysian authorities are closely monitoring sea levels and have advised residents in coastal areas to stay alert for further updates from the Meteorological Department. Aftershocks as high as magnitude 5 have already been recorded, and regional governments are preparing for potential evacuations in vulnerable low-lying zones.
