In a major milestone for Malaysian martial arts, three young athletes from the Jun Lun Professional Wushu Training Centre achieved significant success at the 2026 World Junior Wushu Championships in Tianjin, China. Leading the charge was Crystal Wee Yu Tang, who made history by clinching a joint gold medal in the Girls' C daoshu event with a score of 8.513. This victory marks the training centre's first ever gold medal on the world junior stage, signaling a bright future for the sport in Malaysia.

The success was a family affair, as Crystal's brother, Bryan Wee Hao Quan, also impressed the judges, securing a silver medal in the Boys' C daoshu event. Both siblings added to their tallies with additional podium finishes; Crystal earned a silver in changquan, while Bryan took home bronze medals in both changquan and gunshu. Their performances have been hailed as a breakthrough for Malaysian wushu, highlighting the effectiveness of local training programmes in producing world class talent.

Following these results, Malaysia finished the world junior meet with its highest ever medal haul in recent years. The national junior squad's success in Tianjin is seen as a crucial stepping stone toward the upcoming 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, where many of these young athletes are expected to compete for senior titles. The Wushu Federation of Malaysia has expressed immense pride in the team's discipline and hard work throughout the tournament.
