Adding to global instability, North Korea confirmed on Thursday that it has conducted a new series of weapons tests, including ballistic missiles armed with cluster bomb warheads. State media KCNA reported that the tests also involved an electromagnetic weapon, part of an ongoing push to expand nuclear capable forces aimed at South Korea. This marks the second round of major launches in just two days, prompting immediate condemnation from neighboring nations.

The international community has voiced deep concern over the use of cluster munitions, which are banned by many countries due to their lasting danger to civilians. South Korea's military detected multiple launches from an eastern coastal area, leading to increased alertness along the border. Analysts suggest that Kim Jong Un is utilizing the global focus on the Middle East to advance his own strategic weapons timeline without facing the usual level of international pressure.

In response to the tests, Taiwan's parliament is being urged by US senators to pass a stalled defense spending plan as a signal of strength against regional aggression. The escalation in the Korean Peninsula, combined with the fragile state of the US-Iran truce, has placed global security agencies on high alert. Many nations are now re-evaluating their defense postures as these simultaneous crises threaten to destabilize multiple regions at once.
