A significant forest fire broke out late last night on a hilly area in Taman Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan, covering approximately two acres of woodland. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received the emergency call at 9:27 PM and quickly dispatched 18 personnel from the Seri Kembangan, Bukit Jalil, and Sri Petaling stations to the scene at Jalan PUJ 2/24.
Firefighters worked throughout the night to contain the blaze, successfully bringing it under control by the early hours of this morning, April 10, 2026. Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or damage to nearby residential properties, although the smoke was visible from the MEX Highway and surrounding neighborhoods.
This incident follows a much larger fire in the same vicinity just last month, raising concerns about the vulnerability of the hilly terrain during the current dry weather. The Fire and Rescue Department remains on high alert and has advised residents in the Seri Kembangan area to avoid open burning and to report any signs of smoke immediately to prevent further outbreaks.
