Proton has reported a massive surge in demand for the S70 model, with order books for 2026 already securing over 7,157 bookings since opening in February. The company stated that bookings for the popular C-segment sedan are coming in at a rate of roughly one unit every four minutes, signaling a revival of interest in sedans among local buyers. 

Total deliveries for the model have now crossed the 40,000 unit milestone since its debut in late 2023. This success comes despite stiff competition from the SUV market, as consumers appear to favour the sedan's features and value proposition in the current economic climate. 

In aviation, AirAsia X announced a 9% year on year increase in passenger numbers for the first quarter of 2026, carrying approximately 18.9 million passengers. The growth was largely driven by a surge in domestic demand and a robust load factor of 85% across its consolidated network.
