The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an urgent weather warning today, predicting thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in seven states. The warning, which remains in effect until early afternoon, covers several regions where severe weather patterns could lead to localized flash floods. Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The states under alert include parts of the Klang Valley and several northern regions, where heavy rain has already been reported since early morning. These conditions are being driven by a temporary weather system that is expected to dissipate by the evening. However, the intensity of the winds has already caused some minor disruptions to local transportation and outdoor activities.
This weather warning follows a series of early morning blazes in Pahang and Kuantan, where firefighters battled fires at several residential units. While no casualties were reported in those incidents, emergency services are remaining on high alert due to the combination of dry fire prone conditions earlier in the week and the sudden arrival of heavy storms.
