A driver was tragically found burnt to death following a severe collision between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a lorry on the Jalan Miri Bypass in Sarawak today. The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 9:31 AM, dispatching personnel from the Lopeng station to the scene where both vehicles had caught fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the SUV completely destroyed and the victim trapped inside the burning wreckage.

The impact of the crash was so severe that the front of the lorry was also heavily damaged by the flames. As of late morning, authorities are still working to establish the identity of the deceased and the exact cause of the accident. This incident has caused significant concern in the local community as investigations continue to determine the sequence of events leading to the fire. 

Traffic in the area remains affected as recovery operations are carried out. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes while the Miri Bypass is being cleared of debris. This tragedy underscores the persistent dangers of heavy vehicle collisions on major bypass roads.
