Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill will continue to lead the Malaysia National Cycling Federation (MNCF) after retaining the presidency unopposed for the 2026–2030 term. This marks his first full term in the role, having previously served in an acting capacity following the passing of the late Datuk Abu Samah Wahab in 2023. The lack of challengers for the post signals strong internal support and confidence in his leadership as the federation prepares for major upcoming international events.
Stability at the top of the MNCF is seen as vital for the continued development of high-performance cycling in Malaysia. Amarjit has emphasized his commitment to enhancing grassroots programs and securing more opportunities for local riders on the global stage. Under his guidance, the federation is also looking toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, with a focus on identifying and nurturing the next generation of track and road cycling talents.
His reappointment will be officially confirmed during the federation's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kuala Lumpur. With the leadership question settled, the MNCF can now focus its full attention on preparations for the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and upcoming UCI-sanctioned races, ensuring that Malaysian cycling remains competitive within the region.
