U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has officially announced that the active military phase of the campaign against Iran has reached its conclusion. In a high-level briefing today, Rubio stated that the primary military objectives have been met, marking a pivot away from direct combat operations. Despite this declaration, he emphasized that the United States would maintain a "maximum pressure" diplomatic and economic stance to address the underlying regional security issues.

While the kinetic campaign is ending, Rubio acknowledged that significant challenges remain, particularly regarding the ongoing maritime blockades in the region. The U.S. Navy will continue to maintain a heightened presence to ensure the "freedom of navigation" for commercial vessels, as several key shipping lanes remain partially obstructed by naval mines and patrol boats. The Secretary warned that any further aggression against international trade would be met with swift, targeted responses, even outside of a full-scale military campaign.

The shift in strategy has prompted mixed reactions from international allies, with some welcoming the de-escalation while others fear a power vacuum could lead to further instability. Diplomatic channels are now being prioritized to negotiate a more permanent resolution to the ship blockades that have disrupted global supply chains. As the military posture transitions, the focus turns toward a United Nations-led framework intended to normalize trade and secure long-term peace in the Middle East.
