PETALING JAYA: Police are looking for the driver of a Perodua Aruz who is suspected of assaulting the driver of a Ferrari during an altercation on the North-South Expressway near Nilai, after a video went viral on social media today.

Nilai district police chief Johari Yahya said a report was lodged at 6.40pm by one of the drivers involved in the incident, which took place at about 11am, according to Harian Metro.

A video circulating on social media showed a Ferrari and a Aruz stopped on the outer lanes of the highway, with two men believed to be the drivers grappling and exchanging blows before one of them fell. They were separated by passing motorcyclists who stopped to help. A woman is also seen holding back one of the drivers.

Johari said preliminary investigations found the dispute involved two men in their 30s which was believed to have stemmed from a disagreement over their driving.

The Aruz driver was alleged to have assaulted the Ferrari driver, causing him to fall. He also allegedly made threats against the other man. “The altercation was later broken up by members of the public,” Johari said.

He said efforts are under way to track down the Aruz driver.

The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation. He urged those with information on the incident to contact the Nilai police or the nearest police station.
