PETALING JAYA: DAP’s Teresa Kok defended her decision not to report her former officer to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) after discovering alleged misappropriation of funds for her constituency. She responded to criticism from former MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker, who questioned her integrity for not reporting the incident.
Kok explained she had raised concerns about the federal territory education department’s provision of smartboards and believed sacking her former assistant was enough action. Despite terminating his service, Kok said she still had a "soft spot" for him after 10 years of working together. Kok also defended her actions after Lim Kit Siang supported her, expressing concern that the investigation could affect her re-election prospects.
