Leong Jun Hao heads to the Thailand Open with renewed confidence after stellar wins over world No. 8 Kodai Naraoka and France’s Arnaud Merkle at the Sudirman Cup. The world No. 24 now faces Hong Kong’s Angus Ng, whom he defeated at the 2023 Thomas Cup. With momentum on his side and a history of shining under low expectations, Jun Hao eyes a deep run in Bangkok. National coaching director Kenneth Jonassen believes his form could carry through, though Ng—last year’s Thailand Open runner-up—will be tough to beat. Fellow Malaysians Ng Tze Yong, Justin Hoh, and Aidil Sholeh will also compete.
