Pavon, enjoying a solid putting performance, was pleased with his round, while Homa’s six-under back nine helped him surge up the leaderboard.Vegas, ranked 70th in the world, could become the lowest-ranked player to lead a major after the first two rounds since 1992. The projected cut was one-under 143, with several top players, including Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, at risk of missing it.
