The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has dismissed Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s contempt bid against former AG Tan Sri Ahmad Terrirudin as premature and unfair, with key appeal hearings on the matter pending at the Federal Court in July.
The AGC said Terrirudin acted within his constitutional duties and rejected claims that he misled the court over a royal addendum allegedly allowing Najib house arrest.
A court-ordered stay on related judicial review proceedings remains in effect, making any contempt move a breach of the directive. The AGC urged all parties to respect the legal process and avoid actions that undermine the court’s authority.
