McDonald's has settled a $10 billion lawsuit by Byron Allen, who accused the company of racial bias in ad spending by excluding Black-owned media. The deal, which also resolves a related $100 million lawsuit, avoids a July trial. Terms are confidential, but McDonald’s agreed to buy ads from Allen’s companies at market value. Allen’s media group, which includes The Weather Channel, had claimed McDonald’s broke a 2021 pledge to increase ad spending with Black-owned media.
