A woman allegedly assaulted by her employer in Pasir Gudang on May 15 was found to have pre-existing health issues unrelated to the incident, according to Johor police.
Seri Alam Police Chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said a medical report confirmed the 34-year-old sustained only minor injuries—scratches and bruises—and that her need for surgery was due to an existing illness.
He clarified this following viral claims that the woman required hospitalisation and surgery because of the assault. The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, and investigation papers have been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor.
