PUTRAJAYA — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim celebrated the success of the Madani school adoption initiative, which has expanded from its initial goal of 300 schools to nearly 1,000, thanks to strong collaboration between the government, private sector, and local communities.

Speaking at the Sekolah Angkat Malaysia Madani event, Anwar praised companies like Petronas, TNB, Telekom Malaysia, and Sime Darby for being early supporters of the programme, which aims to uplift under-resourced schools through financial and infrastructure aid.

He emphasized that private sector support allows the government to focus on other development needs, like building new schools, roads, and health facilities.

Anwar also encouraged corporate leaders to engage with adopted schools directly, saying visits and mentoring can inspire students by exposing them to real-world experiences and role models.
