BANGKOK — Thailand faces political turmoil as tensions with Cambodia escalate. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is fighting to retain power after a leaked call with former Cambodian leader Hun Sen sparked backlash and led to the exit of a key coalition party.

The border dispute, which turned deadly last month, has now disrupted trade, with Cambodia halting Thai fuel imports and Thailand tightening border controls. A cabinet reshuffle is expected this week as Paetongtarn’s coalition tries to regroup ahead of next week’s parliamentary session and growing street protests.

The Thai PM also faces legal scrutiny over the leaked call, while ties with Cambodia worsen amid nationalistic fervour and economic strain.
