KUALA LUMPUR — As Asean Chair, Malaysia has urged stronger cooperation between Asean and the OIC to address the worsening crisis in Myanmar, especially the plight of the Rohingya.
Speaking in Istanbul at the OIC Contact Group on Rohingya Muslims, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan called for an end to violence, more humanitarian aid, and safe repatriation of displaced Rohingyas to Rakhine State.
He outlined Malaysia’s three priorities: inclusive political dialogue, cessation of violence, and expanded relief efforts — especially after the March 28 earthquake worsened the humanitarian situation.
