France announced on Tuesday its plan to airdrop 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip starting Friday, with four flights carrying 10 tonnes of food each, in coordination with Jordanian authorities.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, co-chairing a UN conference on a two-state solution, stressed that while air drops are "useful," they are "not sufficient." He highlighted that 52 metric tonnes of French aid are currently blocked near Gaza, urging Israeli authorities to reopen land access to alleviate suffering. Barrot also noted that France, along with other countries like Britain, is actively reviving the "two-state solution," which was "on the verge of collapse."
