A German air force EC-135 helicopter crashed into the Mulde river near Grimma, Saxony, on Tuesday during a training flight, killing at least two members of the Helicopter Wing 64. A third crew member is still being searched for.

Defence Minister Boris Pistorius expressed deep sadness over the incident, vowing a full investigation into the unknown cause of the crash. The helicopter, which was hired for training, went missing in the morning before canoeists spotted wreckage. Over 100 emergency personnel are involved in the search, and a boom has been deployed to contain kerosene leaking into the river.
