Malaysia’s Wan Arif Wan Junaidi and Yap Roy King went down fighting in the Hong Kong Open quarter-finals, losing to India’s world No. 9 duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. In a thrilling 64-minute showdown at the Hong Kong Coliseum, the 20th-ranked Malaysians pushed the seasoned Indian pair to three games before falling 14-21, 22-20, 16-21. Arif-Roy King showed great resilience by snatching the second game, but the Indians’ aggressive play and powerful smashes proved decisive in the decider.
