The 4th Iranian Film Festival (IFF) 2026 is the highlight of the local cinema scene today as it prepares for its official opening tomorrow, February 6. Organized by the Iranian Embassy in collaboration with FINAS and GSC, the festival will screen six world-acclaimed contemporary Iranian films, including The West Sky and Ahmed. These screenings are entirely free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at selected GSC outlets in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu.

Acclaimed filmmaker Majid Majidi is a special guest for this year's festival. He will be conducting exclusive masterclasses at FINAS Malaysia and UiTM, providing a rare opportunity for local film students and directors to learn from a world-renowned master. This cultural exchange is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the Malaysian and Iranian film industries.

Participating cinemas for the weekend screenings include GSC Mid Valley, GSC MyTown, GSC Paradigm JB, and GSC Suria Sabah. Fans of international cinema are advised to arrive early, as tickets for the acclaimed titles are expected to be claimed quickly.
