Sunny Deol’s war epic Border 2 showed remarkable staying power by recording an upward trend in its third weekend, pushing its total worldwide gross to ₹440.55 crore. The film earned approximately ₹12 crore over the last two days, surpassing the lifetime collections of several major earlier blockbusters. Despite being banned in Gulf countries due to its narrative, the film remains a massive commercial success in India, where it has already crossed the ₹300 crore nett mark domestically.
The success of Border 2 has revitalized interest in large-scale patriotic dramas, with trade analysts predicting it will easily cross the ₹450 crore mark by the end of the week. Meanwhile, the smaller-budget sequel Vadh 2, starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, also saw a 100% growth over the weekend, amassing a total of ₹2.5 crore. These figures suggest that both high-octane spectacles and content-driven dramas are finding significant audiences in the current theatrical market.
