In the Malayalam film industry, the horror-comedy Prakambanam continues to be a massive box office hit. Entering its fourth week, the film has earned over ₹15.67 crore gross, yielding a 232% return on its modest ₹4 crore budget. Simultaneously, the family drama Ashakal Aayiram, starring Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram, remains in the "safe zone" with a worldwide collection of approximately ₹7.09 crore after 17 days in cinemas. 

International cinema also saw the debut of the Taiwanese feature Left-Handed Girl (左撇子女孩), directed by Tsou Shih-ching. The film follows a single mother navigating gender roles and societal expectations in Taipei and has drawn early critical praise for its examination of superstitions and tradition.
