International cinema also saw the debut of the Taiwanese feature Left-Handed Girl (左撇子女孩), directed by Tsou Shih-ching. The film follows a single mother navigating gender roles and societal expectations in Taipei and has drawn early critical praise for its examination of superstitions and tradition.
