Selangor police have detained six men, aged between 18 and 49, following a violent brawl in a residential area in Bukit Sentosa, Rawang, that went viral on social media today. The incident, which was captured on video and widely shared, showed a group of individuals engaged in a riotous fight that caused significant public alarm.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar clarified in a statement today that the riot stemmed from a personal dispute and misunderstanding between two families. He explicitly stated that the incident does not involve any elements of gangsterism or racial tension, urging the public to stop spreading speculation that could disrupt public order.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting. Police have warned that firm action will be taken against anyone who takes the law into their own hands or threatens public safety through such acts of violence.
