A senior commander of the Bukit Kayu Hitam border agency narrowly escaped death this morning after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle at 6:30 AM. The official was traveling to work when the ambush occurred, with multiple bullets hitting the car but fortunately leaving the commander unhurt. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a massive manhunt for the suspects, while security at the Malaysia-Thailand border has been placed on high alert following the brazen attack.

In a separate security matter, the Malaysian Army successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 32 head of cattle worth RM448,000 across the Golok river in Kelantan. Meanwhile, in Pahang, police have detained a university student for allegedly posting provocative content related to 3R issues (Religion, Race, and Royalty) on social media. Authorities reiterated that they will take strict action against any individuals attempting to incite racial or religious tension through digital platforms.
