In a historic first for Malayalam cinema, superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty jointly attended the theatrical trailer launch of their high-profile multi-starrer, "Patriot", on Saturday. Mohanlal was present at Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam, while Mammootty visited Ragam Theatre in Thrissur for the event. The film, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, is one of the most anticipated releases for April 2026 and features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist. 

Simultaneously, director Prithviraj Sukumaran has finally put an end to persistent casting rumors regarding the sequel "L2: Empuraan". He officially confirmed that Fahadh Faasil is not part of the film, nor are other rumored international stars like Tom Cruise. Despite these exclusions, the film has already shattered advance booking records in Kerala ahead of its highly anticipated summer release window.
