Director Karthik Shaamalan officially confirmed that production for the sequel was slated to begin rolling in February 2026. The project, which expands on the record breaking success of the first film, is being developed under the tagline "A K4 Kaathal Story". Preproduction was reported to be nearing completion late last year, with music once again being handled by long time collaborator Shameshan Mani Maran. 

A significant update for fans came just last month when the production team issued an official casting call for "Day Actors and Background Actors". Interested talents were invited to submit their profiles and audition videos to the official production email before the March 5, 2026 deadline. This indicates that while the primary filming may have started in February, the team is still actively integrating new faces into the expanded C4C universe. 

The sequel aims to be "bigger and bolder" than the original, with several new actors joining the returning lead cast members. While the exact theatrical release date remains under wraps, the film is firmly targeted for a 2026 release, aiming to replicate the massive box office success of the first part, which remains the highest grossing Malaysian Tamil film to date.
