Chris Evans has officially joined the cast of the upcoming crime thriller My Darling California, replacing Josh Brolin, who had to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts. Evans joins an already impressive ensemble that includes Jessica Chastain, Chris Pine, Mikey Madison, Charles Melton, and Don Cheadle. This marks the first time Evans and Chris Pine will star in a film together.
Written and directed by Elijah Bynum (known for Magazine Dreams), the film is set in 1980s Los Angeles. The plot follows how a single crime intertwines the lives of diverse characters, including a television host, his restless wife, a country music idol, two short-time crooks, and an ex-con, all chasing the elusive promise of a better life.
Production for the film is slated to begin in late summer, likely around September 2026. The project is generating significant buzz and is expected to be one of the major titles showcased at the upcoming Cannes Film Market next month.
