Malaysia’s premier tekong, Mohd Syahir Mohd Rosdi, has officially set his sights on winning two titles at the upcoming Sepak Takraw World Cup, which is scheduled to take place at the Titiwangsa Stadium starting May 16. Syahir, known for his thunderous serves and leadership on the court, believes that the home-ground advantage will be the deciding factor in Malaysia’s battle against traditional rivals like Thailand. The national federation has expressed full confidence in the squad, aiming for at least three final appearances across various categories.

However, the Sepak Takraw chief has warned the team to remain vigilant, as Thailand is reportedly rebuilding its squad with fresh, younger talent specifically for this tournament. The rivalry between the two nations remains the fiercest in the sport, and any lapse in concentration could derail Malaysia's championship ambitions. Training camps have been intensified to sharpen the players' defensive coordination and serve accuracy, ensuring they are prepared for the high-intensity atmosphere of a home World Cup.
