On the occasion of Suriya's birthday the makers of the actor's upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya 47, released a new poster for the film. The upcoming film will be directed by Aavesham-fame Jithu Madhavan.

Suriya 47 has been a highly secretive project with full details of the plot and cast yet to be fully revealed. An earlier poster for the film, which was released as part of Netflix's slate revealed that this would be a cop flick.

The newly released poster also hints at the film retaining the same combination of whimsy and dramatics as director Jithu's earlier directorial ventures, Romancham (2022) and Aavesham (2024).

Naslen and Nazriya Nazim also star alongside Suriya in the upcoming film. Sushin Shyam reunites with Jithu after Aavesham (2024). Suriya is producing under his newly formed Zhagaram Studios banner alongside his 2D Entertainment banner, through which Jyothika also backs the film.

Jithu Madhavan also served as a writer behind the drama thriller, Balan: The Boy. Directed by Chidambaram, who has directed Manjummel Boys previously, the film opened in theatres on June 19.
