NEW DELHI — Segula Technologies India Pvt Ltd is advancing plans to establish Malaysia as its regional hub for South-east Asia following a “fruitful” discussion with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in India’s capital

Chief executive officer and managing director for India and Southeast Asia, Arun Rajendran, said the company aims to launch operations within the next three quarters, leveraging 

Malaysia’s strong manufacturing base, existing infrastructure, and skilled talent pool.

“We discussed how to upskill Malaysian talent for advanced manufacturing and global design and development programmes,” he said, adding that Segula is exploring collaborations with local partners Hicom Engineering Sdn Bhd, an automotive manufacturing and engineering services company based in Selangor.

Speaking to Bernama after meeting with Anwar here, he said the company is also in talks with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority as well as seeking support from the Malaysian consulate general in Chennai to materialise the plan.

Arun said Segula aims to have 50 full-time positions initially in Malaysia, with training in advanced manufacturing before deployment to global customer programmes.

“One customer engagement is nearing finalisation, with more details expected by end of the current quarter,” he said.
