KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — a total of 101 students from SK Chepor in Ipoh fell ill after consuming contaminated fried chicken and chocolate drinks at their school canteen, authorities confirmed. The Perak Health Department was alerted when five students showed symptoms of food poisoning, including diarrhoea, vomiting, and fever. An investigation by the Kinta District Health Office later identified 96 more cases, bringing the total to 101. One student was hospitalized, while others received outpatient care or rested at home. The canteen has been shut for 14 days, with Salmonella suspected as the cause of the outbreak.
