KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Malaysia to Focus on Selective Foreign Investments in AI and Data Tech, Says PM Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysia is now more discerning in attracting foreign direct investments, emphasizing projects that offer significant benefits, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and data technology. 

He noted that establishing data centers requires integration with AI technologies, citing Nvidia's project in Johor as a prime example of this shift. Anwar also stressed the need for universities to develop a skilled workforce in AI and engineering to meet high-tech industry demands.

In discussing the national budget, he highlighted that education and health will be top priorities, with the largest allocations directed to the education sector.
