SPM Student Dies After Sudden Coma Just One Day Before Exams

BATU PAHAT: A 17-year-old Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) student, Sim Hui Yi, tragically passed away after falling into a coma just one day before her exams.

Sim, a student at SMK Yong Peng, complained of a severe headache on the eve of her SPM and collapsed. Her family rushed her to the Yong Peng health clinic before she was transferred to Batu Pahat Hospital, where she fell into a coma and passed away around 10am on December 5.

Johor health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon, who visited the family, said Sim was a healthy, active student with no prior medical issues. She was known for her intelligence and hard work.
