110 Arrested in Major Bukit Bintang Raids Targeting Prostitution and Immigration Violations
KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 110 individuals, including foreign nationals, were arrested early this morning in a joint operation at nine entertainment outlets and seven hotels in the Jalan Changkat, Bukit Bintang area. The four-hour raid, which began at 2 am, involved 254 personnel from the police, Immigration Department (JIM), DBKL, and JAWI.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the operation, aimed at eradicating prostitution, led to the detention of 41 people, including 23 men and 12 foreign women, for offences related to prostitution and violations under the Kuala Lumpur Entertainment Act. The Immigration Department arrested 36 for offences including illegal employment and using false documents, while JAWI detained 33 for public indecency and alcohol-related offences.
Additionally, DBKL issued five compound notices and closed premises found in violation of local regulations. Rusdi emphasized that Kuala Lumpur police will continue to take a firm stance against such activities.
