KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with renowned economist Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs of Columbia University today to discuss key issues, including sustainable development, green energy, and Malaysia's role as ASEAN Chair. They also explored strategies for a more liberal foreign policy to attract investors to Malaysia.
"Hopefully, this meeting will bring significant benefits to the country," Anwar said on X.
The meeting took place ahead of Anwar's official visit to the United Arab Emirates. Sachs, a global leader in sustainable development and president of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is also an advocate for energy transition and an honorary professor at Sunway University.
