Since October 7, 2023, the Palestinian Education and Higher Education Ministry reports 14,784 students killed and 24,766 injured due to Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. In Gaza, over 14,649 students were killed and at least 23,936 injured. In the West Bank, 135 students were killed and 830 injured, with 724 detained. The aggression also resulted in the deaths of 880 teachers and administrative staff and injuries to 4,247. Additionally, 193 educational staff members have been detained in the West Bank. Severe damage has affected 352 government schools in Gaza, including the complete destruction of 111, alongside damage to UNRWA schools and higher education institutions. In the West Bank, schools and universities have been raided and vandalized. The ministry also noted that 788,000 students in Gaza are unable to attend school and face psychological trauma.
