Washington, May 5 — In a newly aired NBC interview, former President Donald Trump said he’s unsure whether he’s obligated to uphold the US Constitution if re-elected.

When asked if citizens and non-citizens are entitled to due process under the Constitution, Trump responded, “I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know.” Pressed further on whether he believes he must uphold the Constitution, he repeated, “I don’t know.”

The 78-year-old Republican also dismissed speculation about seeking an unconstitutional third term and blamed President Joe Biden for the economy’s downturn.

The comments have sparked strong reactions in Washington, including from members of his own party.
